From the novice who wants to tackle gentle beginner trails to the seasoned expert determined to conquer a double black diamond run, all of our resorts offer world-class lessons for skiers and riders of every skill level.

Instructors and Lessons

Enrolling in a class is the quickest and safest way to learn to ski or snowboard. Being together with other people of the same ability is a crucial confidence-builder: you are no longer the worst on the slope, only one of the worst. Our Ski Schools offer group lessons for friends or families on holiday together of similar standard. Skiing has undergone a positive development over the past few years with equipment advances and a more relaxed attitude to make it more widely accessible. We know that you'll master the basics of the sport and get to explore the beauty of the mountains with confidence and good technique.

Group Lessons

Most classes run throughout the week, starting on Sundays, but this depends on the resort. Try to leave some time each day to work on your skiing outside the class. A good way to do this is to take lessons in the morning, when you are freshest, and to spend the afternoons going over at your own pace what you have learnt. Ski school is also a good way to meet people, and there may be someone in the class with whom you can practise after lessons.

Another good way to improve is to ski with a group of more advanced friends, though be careful of well-meaning but incorrect advice, and make sure that you don't over-stretch your ability. Don't be too proud to return to school once you are a competent skier.

Private Lessons

Although daily lessons are essential for beginners, their necessity decreases with subsequent holidays. After the second or third holiday, it may make more sense to take the occasional private lesson. The advantage of private lessons is that the instructor can concentrate on your individual needs, making sure that you understand any new concepts. You don't spend any time waiting for the rest of the class. If it is one or two private lessons you looking for, ask your resort representative on arrival to make some enquiries and bookings for you.

Livigno Central Ski School

As of winter 2009/2010 the two most popular centrally located ski schools 'Inverno Estate' and 'Top Club' will join to make one ski school called 'Centrale Ski School' which is based both in the Centre of town and the San rocco area. This will ensure a more fluid system designed to improve the service offered. The lessons will now be 2 hours in length for 6 days from 11.00 - 13.00 taking place Sunday until Friday.

For those seeking afternoon lessons in small groups the popular 'Friends & Family' package is available for 2 hours per day from 14.00 - 16.00 for 4 days. This is a very good option if you are a group of friends or family who are mixed ability but still wish to stay together on the slopes.

The time spent with your Livigno Instructor can have a remarkable impact on your mountain and resort experience. Our skiing and snowboarding lessons can help you learn new skills, gain confidence and reach your full potential.
